IT’S INDY DAY ON THE GOLD COAST 20-10-2007 and it looks like it going to be wild, better than last year.

The Gold coast Indy track visited on this morning of the event, looks to be a wet one. The group we hang out with loves to see the exitement in the crashes that happen more so in the wet. Whilst we like the crashes we wish the drivers all the best and that no harm comes to them. With the wet weather comes a shorter race but with more action and if you watch closely you may even see some dancing around the streets of Surfers paradise on the Gold coast today.

We look forward to the planes as a highlight as it gives us a chance to get out our old photography gear and take some snaps. The planes come through just like clockwork just as the race is about to start at 1.25 pm. They are always a spectacular part of the event and the days we don’t see them we feel cheated.

We have an office pool that there will be a number of crashes. Anyone who wants in on the game just register you interest by signing up here before 12pm today email your figures to admin to post and if you miss out on this years draw there is always next year.

I am saying

6 if wet and 4 dry

My Partner is saying

7 if wet and 3 dry

But we wish everyone good luck and have a great time and just remember the traffic will be better soon. And that this day makes all the traffic headaches worth it.

The Indy track in ausis located in the highly populated Surfers paradise area. Estimated to house around 30% of the Gold coast community. Prior to the approval for buildning on the block adjacent to the Q super centre the government could have easily use this as the Indy track and had not nearly as many residents or businesses put out by the decision.

Whether it be the Gold coast council or the state government we feel the decision to keep the track where it is, is a bad business decision. Due to the fact that our business alone loses over $4000 during the 8 -12 week debarcle in September, October and Novemember. We used to get our customers to pay an Indy levy that is charge 2 hours extra $150 for labour which they did not used to understand. However now they do with the fact they are often stuck in traffic around the track for 2 hours.

Even now the Gorvernment could still use the Mermaid waters site and not affect nearly as many businesses and residents as they do. Though we support Peter Beattie we feel now he has lost his edge.
