2. Avoid all unnecessary shopping.
By making a list STICK TO IT and shop only when you have to about once a fortnight IF DONE PROPERLY. This also saves on costly transport, petrol and vehicle maintainence. When I do a budget or list to shop with I Keep a small amount aside for TRUE bargains not those junk specials. I know it’s hard to do but you have to avoid those door to door catalogs that sell EXACT products available in the GENERAL SHOPS, $2 or cheap shops. Ausis.info offer true value Australian home shopping.
3. Always keep left overs.
Some people astound me even after 30 years or so of me telling them the food often tastes better the next day. Those of you who throw out your food after each meal you do not realise what your missing. By using left overs you can save quite a lot of money. Each fortnight you shop you will see you spend less and some weeks you may not need to even do a shop.
4. Buy in bulk where you can.
Or concentrate, what you need to do is add up your savings and then at the next shop buy the largest amount for the best value. Dried herbs for example cost $4 for a 100 gram or $8 for 1 kilo that is a massive saving of $32 on ONE ITEM. They can even be stored in the freezer. When I say concentrate I mean such as food or cleaners that cost around 20% or more on buying a non concentrate, you can save a large amount. At ausis we supply chemicals direct from the manufacturer who knows what goes into your products as we have chemical sensitivities WE HAVE TO KNOW This will once again save on costly transport, petrol and vehicle maintainence.
5. DIY Make what you can yourself.
If your are a handy or a craft type of person you probably already do this, by following shows such as Martha Stewart, The lifestyle channel, How to channel or the like. IF YOU are on a budget and not so handy check your local paper for free or cheap courses to attend that help by teaching you how to stuff, one such place in Australia is Bunnings hardware.
